Peter Birk, CFA, CAIA

Peter is a Director at Moelis Asset Management and a member of the Catalyst team. He is responsible for manager research, investment sourcing, and capital formation. Prior to Moelis, Peter was a member of the private markets team at Ascension Investment Management (AIM). At AIM, he committed nearly $1 billion annually across various private equity funds and co-investments. Prior to AIM, he was a vice president at Highland Associates, an institutional investment consultant specializing in mission-based organizations. Peter began his career in private markets at Summit Strategies Group, where a key tenet of the team’s philosophy included backing emerging and specialist managers. Peter is a CFA® and CAIA® charter holder and received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from The University of Missouri. He holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
